traditional chinese in hongkong and macao?

In PR China chinese is written in simplified chinese. In Taiwan chinese
is written in traditional chinese. Hongkong was many years independent
from the PR China. What was written there in times of independence and
what is written there today (what learn children in school, did
newspapers change from traditional to simplified)? The same question
rises about Macao. Traditional or simplified chinese? And is there a PR
China policy to change the writing from traditional to simplified in the
"reunited territories" Macao and Hongkong? What do the people of
Hongkong and Macao want? Do they have a choice?

Traditional, mostly. Beginning to see a lot more simplified.
